Privacy Policy

Pookie Bear is a private space for two people. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, your shared content is visible only to you and your partner, and we never sell your data or show ads.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and sign-in identifier (via Apple, Google, or email and password, handled by Google Firebase Authentication). If you use Sign in with Apple you may hide your real email.
• Profile: the name and nickname you choose, an optional photo and birthday, and your mood status.
• What you share with your partner: chat messages and reactions, notes, doodles, photos and captions in Memories, your answers to the Daily Spark, countdowns, and your relationship start date.
• Device and app data: a push-notification token, your device platform, time-zone offset and app language (so reminders arrive at the right time in the right language), and when you last opened the app (so your partner can see “Online” or “Seen 2h ago”).
• Preferences: notification sounds, quiet hours and similar settings.

We do not collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.

How we use it

Only to run Pookie Bear: to sign you in, pair you with your partner, deliver what you send to each other, send the notifications you asked for, keep your streak, and keep the service secure. We may email you one-time codes for verification or password reset.

Who can see it

Everything you share inside the app is visible to your partner and to you — no one else in the app. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We rely on a few service providers to operate: Google Firebase (sign-in and push notifications), Apple (Sign in with Apple and push delivery), Brevo (sending verification emails), and our cloud server host. They process data only on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law.

Where it’s stored and how it’s protected

Your data is stored on our servers and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access is limited to what is needed to operate and maintain the service.

Keeping and deleting your data

• Delete your account any time in the app: Profile → Delete my account. This deletes your account, profile and photo, signs you out everywhere, dissolves your couple and removes your shared space, and revokes Sign in with Apple if you used it.
• Unpair (Profile → Unpair from partner) removes the shared space for both of you; your own account remains.
• Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 14 days before it is overwritten.

Children

Pookie Bear is not directed at children and is intended for users aged 16 or over.

Your rights

You can access and correct your profile in the app, and delete your account at any time. For any other request — a copy of your data, a question, or a complaint — email us at pookiebearapp@gmail.com.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app for significant changes.
